1. Why do I regularly have water accumulating in my basement?
Basement water damage problems and flooding are typically caused by hydrostatic pressure. This is where the soil around your home or business becomes saturated with water, and then it presses against your basement walls and even the floor. Over time, this water pressure may open cracks in your walls and floor, allowing water in.
2. Where does the water come from?
There are 6 places where water can enter the basement:
- Where the floor meets wall
- Wall crack(s)
- Floor crack(s)
- Bulk-head and or stairway entry area
- Window in the wall
- Over the top of the foundation
If you are able to identify where the water is coming in. (*Tip – next time it rains go downstairs and see if you can visibly identify where the water enters the home.) If we have this information then we can provide a solution much more quickly for your benefit!
